Large slow moving rivers are ideal places to find carp and other rough fish. Anna took this Common Carp from the St. Lawrence River in NY during an
evening tournament. It did not win the big fish tournament but it is an impressive 20 pound slob!
Carp are not the only quarry to pursue in rivers! On left our Web master demonstrates the variety of fish in rivers by producing this Louisiana
Blue Catfish from a river in Louisiana! Catfish make for good eating and should not be overlooked as table fair. An airboat is a great advantage when navigating shallow rivers.
A river that is temporarily slowed by a dam or impoundment often makes for great bowfishing! In these types of waters you can find fish from both habitats.
George (on right) was pleased with the abundance of Common Carp found in the Conowingo Reservoir in Maryland. When the carp are over five pounds and the action is hot the night never seems to last long
enough!
This is one huge carp Anna is barely holding! Taken from a mighty river of course, this fish weighed in at 35 pounds! Be sure to use heavier tackle for
pursing these monsters of the swift water. Well Done!
